Vanilla Islands founder member Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) has for some time now worked the German market with innovative advertising and marketing methods, attracting the attention of French TV Channel “O” which sent a team to Frankfurt to look behind the scenes of IRT’s office and efforts.
The news item of two minutes in duration, will be screened in France during prime time TV, showcasing how IRT goes about their daily work to bring more German tourists to the island. In the feature, the following highlights will be included:
• The daily work of the IRT team in Germany from their new premises located in the city center of Frankfurt, and an interview with the head of the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) Nicole Anthony.
• Marketing actions in 2014 in cooperation with the agency Comeo such as treasure hunting with a bottle into the sea to find in the streets of Frankfurt and Munich, ambient marketing efforts on the airport carpet Munich, and olfactory marketing efforts with high-end perfume box sent to more than 700 German travel agents.
• A meeting between the team of ESRD in Germany and Comeo agency about the activities undertaken and results of 2014, at which the director of the agency Comeo Ernst was interviewed.
• The formation of the head of the Explorer Fernreisen travel agency in Frankfurt, followed by the presentation of the concept of high-end perfume box, through Mary Strecker, responsible for marketing and promotion of the meeting destination on the German-speaking markets.
This report will highlight the strategy adopted by IRT, as part of the promotion of the destination meeting on the so-called priority German-speaking markets of Germany herself, Austria, and Switzerland.
